Blackberry-no network

I have a blackberry curve 8520 which I have been having issues with over the last period ie freezing, keyboard not working etc.
Today i looked up ways to solve keys issue and one suggested wiping under battery and keys with micro fibre cloth- this solved the sticking keys issue :)

However i noticed my device connects to wifi in house but "searches for network " or " no network" on the device.

I checked my SIM card, it works in another mobile so the issue is with my blackberry device

Any ideas to resolve?
Thanks

Check you have Blackberry Services enabled on the SIM as without these BBM and other services will not work. Ask your network operator.
  • Thanks they are- the sim worked perfectly in the phone before i removed it to "clean" the keys. After re assembly the keys worked but "no signal" from the phone
