I've developed the biggest hankering for a Life on Mars style Ford Cortina.

Talk me out of it please! Else I'll be blowing all my savings...

They are all money pits but you would look so cool in it! I for one would be deadly jelous!

I'm after a 70's beatle at the moment, the only thing putting me off is the safety aspect with my daughter who is like my shadow, I bring her everywhere

I'd rather talk you into it too. Fords are great especially old ones, Im pestering my OH for an older escort (I've got an M plate at the mo) but I really like the MK4s but he cant find any clean ones, or any full stop really. People hide cars like this in their garages, and only get em out to clean em. Best bet is a wanted ad in your local (If your really keen that is).

Most of them rusted and fell to pieces and went to the scrap yard years ago. The ones that were well maintained will now be considered classic cars and cost alot and need lots of time and effort to keep them in good condition.

    Have you ever driven one?

I used to have one in the late 70s and while i thought it was comfortable then...looking back it was a wallowy old thing (wasnt that old). Would you really want one??

Then later in the 80s I like many other peeps used them for banger racing, thats where a lot ended their days
