Should I get a double buggy?

I'm expecting my second when DS will be almost 3, he walks quite well but its much quicker to pop him in the stroller.
The double prams seem expensive and I was wondering if any of you use them and what you'd recommend.

Can you sling your new born whenever your son wants in the pram? Might be the cheapest option
in a years time Youl never need a double so expensive for such a short space of time.

Could get a second hand one - Phil and Teds seem to go on forever and are usually up on our local gumtree fairly cheaply... so much so I'm going to sell the one I'm not using and then just rebuy one when the eldest's walking much more so I need a second seat rarely.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0

I would use a buggy board on the pram so that if he got tired walking then he could go on that.
Buying a doubly buggy for that age is probably not going to get much use.
When my eldest started preschool he had just turned 3 and we would walk most days about 30 mins each way.
If they are used to walking from a young age they will be perfectly happy to walk alongside.1 Sealed Pot Challenge # 1480

How about a balance bike for the 3 year old to help him keep up with the pace?0

From personal experience (20 month gap with mine) I would not bother. For the 1st few months use a sling with little one if you need to free up the buggy and get a buggy board. My son is 2.4 and loves it he's not been in the pushchair for months0

Depends on your kids and where you live as well. My eldest is going to be a very late walker (not there yet) and we live with some really nasty hills to get up and down so I'm pretty sure I'm going to need the pushchair option longer than lots. If you live near the shops where it's all flat... you can probably ditch it earlier. Only you can answer that one.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0

What about a buggy board? I am 29 weeks pregnant and DS will have just turned two when this one is due, we have opted for a buggy board and will see how we get on. If we feel like we still need a pushchair then we will get one then (have already started putting money aside for it just in case).Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0

I think I'm going to see if I can DS used to walking a bit more and see how I get on using my sling first. Then if I need to I can always get a buggy board or double pram if needed.

op double buggy can be very heavy for you to push my dear think you should go with the board as dc1 can walk then if it is too steep for you to push . Don't underestimate the damage it can do your back ! Am speaking as one who has been there and bought the double buggy! lol!xXx-Sukysue-xXx0

Or get a single with the option to add a doubles kit if required? Something like the iCandy Apple or Peach... or B-dual in single mode... or even a Phil and Teds (or the Oyster Max come to think of it)? Can always whack the second seat kit on if it turns out you're needing it rather than buying a second buggy (not that I ever need an excuse to buy a second buggy...)Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0
