Work on the house is ongoing. It is an absolute mess, but it will be great once completed and cleaned. Still working on the floor. Currently given up on cleaning - dust and dirt everywhere. I also need new curtains, as French doors need floor to ceiling curtains and need to match others. Wasn't happy with the curtains anyway. More expense, but it will be worth it.
Paying down the mortgage still, ever so slowly, so every little helps to reduce the size of the debt when the dust settles. Mortgage at £37,800 at the moment.
Spring is here, but the temperature is still cold. Using a lot of electricity to stay warm, as I had to stop using the central heating, as a radiator had to be removed in the sitting room to allow the floor to be done. Really glad I am ahead on the electric bill, and the gas bill is not increasing, so a win win on the fuel bills.
Having to pack everything up has highlighted how much I do not use and can get rid of. Will attempt to ebay once I am in a position to go out during the day - can't at the moment as the builders are here and I need to work.
Making money on surveys seems to have taken a bit of a back seat, but not surprised. All will be well again soon. What I do not give, you must never take by force.

The house is officially wet - a big hole in the side with the rain lashing the battening. Can't be helped. Who would have predicted that May would be this wet and cold?
Positives in life include my appointment to get the 2nd vaccine - hopefully I won't have a reaction. I managed no side effect with the first one.
Have also purchased a kneeling chair. As I will be working from home for the foreseeable future, it's worth trying something different to help with the constant sitting and inactivity. If it doesn't work, I can always ebay it!
Surveys - I seem to be making £10 per week, which I am happy about, so no complaint on that front. Keeping warm is the biggie as the central heating is still disconnected until the floor can be walked on and the radiators fitted. Luckily, using electricity for warmth, as I was so far ahead before the work started, and refused a refund specifically because I knew the consumption would go up during the work.
The garden has been destroyed with all the work, sand, cement, hardcore, wheelbarrows, footfall etc. I have no doubt that it will recover given time. Grass is pretty resilient stuff.
The tiles should start to be laid next week, assuming the floor dries out enough. Anyway, hopefully it will all come good. I have no doubt it will be lovely once it's finished.
Still making payments for the work as it goes along, so the mortgage is continuing to climb. It is back up to £41,800 but every little helps, stops it shooting up to £60,000.What I do not give, you must never take by force.

Celebrated the weekend by booking a winter holiday for 2022. Not sure it will happen, but it's great to have something to look forward to, despite not having any spare money. All spare is currently being funnelled into paying for the builder, so mortgage payments are pretty static at the moment, whilst the debt increases.
Still positive that all will come good in time. Looking for replacement curtains next. Short curtains on French doors won't be a good look.
Still holding out for the lottery win or at least the Premium Bonds paying out. What I do not give, you must never take by force.

Made the last payment of the month into the mortgage. Every little helps. Fingers crossed for the Premium Bonds coming into their own before I have to withdraw the money to pay the builder! Soon, I will have no savings at all and to top it off, I will lose an income stream next month as my tenant has decided to move out. Hopefully, I will be able to find someone else quickly. By August would be great.
