Hi Savings, yes you are right about loan to mortgage rate, which is why I would be drawing down on the mortgage to do the house.  It's still the mortgage, just they are re-loaning me the money I had already paid back.  Much cheaper than a bank loan and still only one repayment vehicle to worry about beyond the car and currently my mobile phone.  It's the only way I borrow, cheaply, which is why I am  paying the mortgage down and will only ever take out an offset mortgage.

Ah that makes sense then Tahlullah. We could do something similar with a little bit of our money - I think. I don't know whether you've seen by Sant&nd3r were doing a free balance transfer for upto 18 months. If you qualify could be a way of getting £ for free... We paid some bills on a different card and then transferred to it when we were doing the patio. We will pay it well within the time... worth a look

Another £100 into the car loan.  Paid myself first, so should be ok with debt repayments this month.  Just done my daily Tilly Tidy as well and made my charitable monthly payment, so have a small amount left in my personal account for the month.  Hopefully, there is  nothing I will want or need to spend on, so it will help with my NSD's target.

Well done on the payment. How much longer have you got to go on that?

Years!   If I pay the monthly contractual payment, I believe it's 5.5 years - I had to take it over a longer period to afford the repayments.  If I repay at the rate I have been overpaying, them it works out to be 3.5 years.  All I can say is it's a nice car, which if looked after will last a long time.  I always wanted one when I was younger, and so this is one of those things, where you say to yourself, if I don't do it now, I never will.  So I made the decision to buy the car I want, so I can say 'I did it', rather than 'I regret I didn't do it, and I can't afford to now as my pension/income won't support it'.  I guess it's about making the decision to live my life rather than putting it on hold whilst I pour every penny into paying off a mortgage and forgetting to enjoy the journey.

I checked my food budget for last month and I underspent by £60, so I hope to do the same thing again.  I am slowly putting on weight.  I still look the same but the scales are telling me otherwise.  I think a lot of it is down to a lack of exercise.  Hopefully, I can turn this around come spring/summer.  I made some fantastic carrot soup, as I had so much of the stuff, so lots in the freezer for when I am too lazy to cook.  Loving the soup maker.  Even my red cabbage soup tastes good.  Not something I would have ever considered making before I came across this marvellous gadget.

My Umbrella plant is still dropping it's leaves.  Really have to try to find out why before it turns into a pile of twigs in the sitting room.  Maybe it needs re-potting?

Is it an audi TT or similar?
Well done on the food budget underspend. Soup sounds lovely. I'm getting more soup ingredients delivered tomorrow.
Good luck with the plant. I keep forgetting to water mine - but they have a visible droop which reminds me (peace lily)

It's a 2 door xxxxxxx.  Love it.  It's not as available as the 4 door - it's the sporty version.  They don't make them any more, so I have to look after this one.  When it dies, I have promised myself I will just buy a car for transport, which means any car.

I think soup is becoming a staple now, something I didn't used to do much of, but I love the ease of it.  I stare at the fridge wondering if any of my veg will go to waste just so I can make some soup!  So sad, but you can make some great concoctions with stray veg from in the cupboard!

Plants are so difficult.  I really need to see if I can get a bigger pot.  I have had this particular plant since I was 30 years old.  I left my job at the Council over 20 years ago and took it with me, as no-one was looking after it and people kept pouring their dregs of tea and coffee into the pot.  So I liberated it.  It has grown into a magnificent specimen, but now the leaves are dropping and I really hope it doesn't die.  It's still growing new leaves though, so it has a chance of survival if I focus.

Peace Lilies are beautiful when in full bloom, and they are so good at telling you when something is wrong as you said.

Looked up car - looks fab. Hope you revive the plant. I am having veg soup and have just sliced up some cooked sausage to add to it.
