Mid month catch up. Hope everyone is well and happy and that things are going the way you wish.
Can't say the same for me. Everything seems to be going pear shaped. Even the weather! Bought a motorbike to make the commute to work cheaper, but have not been able to use it yet as the weather has not been consistent since it was registered back on the road.
A litany of issues to pay for and to fix, which is happening, but my plan of a spend free June is a mere pipe dream. Nothing but nothing is going my way. Even ebay is not going well. Non-paying bidder, so I started a non paying bidder claim. He then paid for the item which was cash on collection, but is now refusing to arrange collection. So, at some point I will have to refund his money. Why he didn't just ask to cancel the sale I have no idea, but I am now embroiled in this waste of time and energy.
The fish are still green.
The camper still requires money spending on it, but it will be great once it is completed. SLOW though!
The good news is that the Pension provider wrote this weekend and confirmed to me that I am going to take my pension 5 years early - next year. The pension is so small, I may as well get the lump sum out and use it wisely and then use the very small pension to help pay the mortgage down until I retire at a later date.
Current amount owed on the mortgage is £81,900, so I have managed to make a bit of an impact this month. The month is not over yet so will see where I am on the 30th and take stock of what is owed at the beginning of July.
Still searching for my mojo!Still striving to be mortgage free before I get to a point I can't enjoy it.

Cheers TG. Not well at all. Looks like he had an attack of Ticks which have infected him with some sort of lurgy. Collecting him from the hospital today, so will give him lots of attention. So odd when he was ill, because he just stopped eating. It was clear something was wrong, just by the amount of food that was being wasted and he usually has a healthy appetite. But, my mistake was assuming that one of the neighbours had been feeding him so he wasn't hungry.
Anyway, he will be home soon.Still striving to be mortgage free before I get to a point I can't enjoy it.

Now then pop pickers, it is nearly the end of the month and time to do a quick round up of where the finances are and the status of the mortgage overpayment.
Have had a really spendy month. I know I intended to only spend what was necessary, but truly hopeless. I have managed to spend money I shouldn't, on things I truly do not need.
The absolute positive is that Kitty is ok. He is getting back to being cat like, something he stopped doing when unwell. When ill, he was subdued. Now, he just sleeps alot, which is typical cat.
I have not managed to do anything significant this month, but have made some over payments on the mortgage. The end of the month, and I will start July owing £78,900. I am happy that I managed to overpay, but saddened that if I was repaying in the manner I should be, I would be making significant strides into the debt, and owe much less than I currently do.
I am hoping to end July owing around the £77,800 mark. If I manage to pay more than this I will be happy.
I was anticipating starting January 2020 owing £77k, so the fact I am already in that ball park is good news, so the repayments are happening. My next prediction is that I will start January 2020 owing around £71k. It would be great if I could start the New Year at £70k but it may not happen, so best not assume a repayment that I cannot keep to. But, all is good as it is going in the right direction.
Next update on the finances should be mid July.Still striving to be mortgage free before I get to a point I can't enjoy it.

It would have been nice to achieve my dream of being mortgage free by 50, but that day has passed. So, I should try to be realistic, and just aim to repay before my 60th birthday.
I hope I can achieve this one simple goal.Still striving to be mortgage free before I get to a point I can't enjoy it.

At the mid way point in the month of July and the mortgage is at £77,700. Hopefully, I will be able to make another payment of £100 so will begin August at £77,600. Even if I am unsuccessful, I will be starting August in a better position than I predicted of £77,800. Will update my footer at the end of the month.
Over the moon as I thought I would be starting January 2020 owing £77,000. Will keep focusing on January 2020 at £70,000 but will not be disappointed if I am unsuccessful with this target.
Started in April owing £85,000. Now in July at £77,700, so repaid £7000 in 3 months. Not too bad I guess. Am starting to look at every success as a glass half full than a glass half empty. Looks like I have 6 years to go until I am mortgage free. Still on track for before my 60th birthday. Every little helps!Still striving to be mortgage free before I get to a point I can't enjoy it.

OK, payday and paid myself first. So the mortgage currently stands at £77,500.
Won't make any further payments into the mortgage this month, but am happy with the progress made.
Will update my signature at the end of the month - just in case...Still striving to be mortgage free before I get to a point I can't enjoy it.
