    Yes, paid for the tyres out of my personal spend budget.  Means I can't afford to buy any small treats for myself until pay-day, and I have to be careful on when I fill the car with diesel as I don't have any money left.  These things always mean you have to compromise somewhere.  I had been saving that money over a few months for a just in case moment, and this was it.  Now, I am back to square one.  If needs be, I will have to borrow from Peter to pay Paul, if you get my drift, but yes, still on track.  Just no clear opportunity to find that extra £500 I will need before the end of the year, if unexpected bills keep popping up.

    Notification of my mortgage interest payment on the SVR for next month - not as bad as I was expecting at £80.  Should be lower the month after as the amount outstanding will be smaller - unless the BOE increases the Base Rate again as predicted.  Turbulent times.

    Tyres.  Wow.  2 new ones fitted, and then found out the rear 2 have been scrubbed on the inside edge as the tracking is out.  So, new bits needed, tracking doing and then another 2 new tyres to be fitted.  Looking to break into the PB's to cover the cost.  At least I can cover it rather than needing to use a CCard.

    Anyway, still heading in the right direction.  Expectation at the end of May will be I owe £14k.  Holiday season means lots of spends, I must remember to live amongst all this austerity.   Looking forward to the sub £10k stage.  7 months to go...

    Still cold here, can't believe it's late May!  Oh well, there is still a lot of wood being burnt to keep warm.  At least the heating is off.

    Latest rise in the Base Rate, but my bank hasn't amended the mortgage rate, so next month's payment has reduced.  This is good news, but the reduction could be because the amount owed is smaller.

    Overpayments are happening, but only those I have budgeted for.  No extra money around at the moment, so will have to wait and see if anything else comes available.  I got a bonus at work, so I will see what that looks like after tax.  I have arranged to take my team out for a meal to say thank you, I wouldn't have received the bonus without them.  Anything after, I will try to pay into the mortgage.

    I am expecting some money back from Calor Gas in August, so again, this may be a bit of spare, unbudgeted money I can pay into the mortgage as well.  Otherwise, everything is on track to be where I expect it to be at this point in time, owing £14k at the end of May.  Still intend to be mortgage free by the end of the year.
