callback when abroad

going abroad this summer buying a local vodaphone sim card for cheaper texts etc and was looking at a company called https://www.enlinea.com which I've seen someone recommending them on this web site.Has anybody used their call back service for cheaper calls back to the Uk and does it work only with a local sim card or can you use say, in my case , my orange mobile number or do they get blocked by orange vodaphone o2 etc?

You can use it with any number, and in fact can have 3 on one account, with a different trigger number for each (they don't rely on caller ID on one single portal).

A local SIM would definitely be best on rates, but even use with a UK one, you might save because incoming tariffs are less than outgoing. Recently though, UK mobile rates on there and the similar Callbackworld have crept up a little, perhaps partly because of the popularity of Isle of Man SIMs with free incoming calls

I used to use Enlinea quite a bit, when their rates for Liechtenstein mobiles were good, but not as much recently.

Other firms worth looking at are Voipfone, Mywebcalls, GSM2world, Vyke, and some Betamax VoIP brands eg a mobile Java client for Voipbuster, and sms callback for Voipcheap and VB

You can find details of local SIM cards, with tariffs and network website links, at http://www.prepaidgsm.net/en/operators.html

If you haven't read Martin's roaming article and its discussion thread, they are worth a look, though I suspect you already have
