OP you seem to think the question is much more simple than it actually is.

The correct answer to your question is

that depends

It doesn't matter if the card company have "Accepted" anything, they won't be deciding whether or not to accept your claim until you've sent the signed paperwork back and they've done their investigations.

You have no right to the entire cost of the car back in these circumstances

If the fault developed within 182 days of purchases it can potentially be deemed to be present at the point of sale

however

If the issue was "in keeping with the age and / or mileage of the vehicle" you have no legal entitlement to a (partial) refund.

What was the actual fault? You need to be very specific with us or you'll get inaccurate advice.
