Well I cannot. He speaks with exceedingly rare accent. If Carragher wants a career in the media may I suggest the newspapers...

How is a scouse accent exceedingly rare? I would imagine it's as common as in Liverpool. Just as a Geordie one would be in Newcastle, or a Glaswegian one in Glasgow.

I'm from nowhere near Liverpool and I understand everything he says perfectly. People should hired on their knowledge, not for having a home counties accent.

If you have trouble understanding him I suggest a visit to your GP to have your ears tested.

Nothing like a nice bowl of scouse, yummy.

Clear as a bell to me. It should be what someone can bring to their profession that counts, not the accent they use to express their knowledge.
The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.

It would seem that this thread has caused some controversy (friendly like).

I personally don't have a problem with JC, apart from asking the question did Sky's MNF actually need another pundit to compliment Gary Nevilles excellent presentation and insight? My view is no, it didn't need tweaking in any way whatsoever. But I know that BT Sport wanted him. And the BBC too. Oh, and ITV as well. So he can't be all bad.

I suppose it just goes to show that where pundits and presenters are concerned, it's all just down to one's own personal opinion.

Also there was me thinking viewers tuned in to watch the sport, not the pundits. Tssk. Silly me. ;)

I agree that Carraghers knowledge of the game is exceptional having 'read' his insight in various publications.

However such insight is lost when it cannot be intelligible on TV in my opinion.

JC makes Stevie G sound like he was educated at Eton?

I'm from Glasgow and we have had this problem with JC since he first kicked a ball, post-match interviews etc.

At least he doesn't say "yer know" before each sentence.
It's not a rare accent at all, he talks quite fast but I can understand him.
