5 1/2 years this could have been my post, but two kids and a wedding ring down the line ......

I also had a string of pretty carpy relationships - some more dysfunctional then others, you could say I kissed a lot of frogs, but I finally found my Prince! Not guarantees that you have but by 'eck it sounds like a good start - enjoy
  • You sound a little like me, OP!

I try not to worry that OH is going to run off with someone younger/prettier/thinner than me, and just accept it when he tells me he loves me.

I wish you all the best - wedding bells in a few years? ;)

Yes this is normal and what's more, this is what you should expect from the right person, sounds like you deserve it.

What she said ^^^ it now sounds as if you also need to work on your relationship with yourself - and remind yourself that you are lovable, have good judgement, and are a good catch. He is a lucky man!

It's not all doom and gloom! :)

This is just how it is supposed to be, you're probably just getting some good karma ^_^ Just go with the flow and relax.
  • Whatever it is about a lot of females, we seem to be attracted by the 'bad' guy all too often...

...then when a 'normal' and 'nice' guy happens along, we question it!

Enjoy the moment and long may it last.

Me and my 'nice' guy have been together nearly 2+1/2 years :D

  • bless he sounds wonderful

    enjoy :)
  • Thank you.

I think you're right, it's not that I think he's doing bad stuff, it's that I don't trust my own judgement that it feels right.

He was back again last night :) but was tired after work, so after he'd had a bath, he fell asleep and I dozed on the sofa and I realised after the movie had finished that I'd leant back into him and he'd put his arm over my shoulder and pretty much across my neck. Last time anyone's arm was around my neck from behind me, it wasn't for nice reasons. :(

But I'd let him and not even noticed.

That's what's different. I feel safe with him. I don't feel like I should ask permission for anything, he doesn't have to be around all the time, I don't want to talk about my exes because they're a hundred years away like a boring old book in the dusty corner of the library.

I feel like some daft kid right now, smiling like a nutter when I think about him kissing me when he was covered in shaving foam and getting him back on the nose.

Is this what falling in love feels like?

(no, I'm not telling him that - he'd set fire to his socks and set off hotfoot to the next county)
  • For everyone it is different, but absolutely!!!

    1... 2... 3... aaaawwwwwwwwwwww :happyhear
