Baby Bjorn aren't known to be brilliant carriers, they don't allow baby to be placed in the optimum position for comfort and aren't known to be comfortable for parent.

If you're interested in baby wearing, have a google to see if there is a sling library near you, you could go and try out different types and brands and find which one is most comfortable for you :o

I loved my baby bjorn I found slings really harsh on my back whereas the baby bjorn evenly distributed the weight.
I must say though baby didn't spend hours in it.

A sling library have loads of different options, carriers, slings, wraps :o so it'd give you an idea of what would suit you best.

http://www.becomingmamas.com/why-you-should-avoid-crotch-dangler-baby-carriers/ is a good link about baby Bjorns and why other carriers can be better value.

I tried a Madame Goo Goo recently and found it brilliant, very supportive and babe can be worn on your back, and mine is an 18 month toddler now :o

  • I wouldn't get a Baby Bjorn. For the reasons in the link Gillyx posted.

I have a Beco Gemini and it's brilliant. My baby refused to be carried facing me for a while, so I'd position him facing outwards (I'd always try to face him inwards first, and only swap to outwards-facing if he wouldn't have it). He is now happy to be carried facing me. You can also do hip carries and back carries, so it's a very versatile carrier without compromising on the ergonomics. It's a buckle carrier with nice thick straps - I didn't get on well with the Moby wrap post-newborn days because it dug into my shoulders.
