Sky discounted + fibre?

Hi all,

I'm just at the end of my first year contract with Sky. I have tv/bb/phone. I pay £49.50 a month. I've managed to get the same deal down to £30.50 a month. Which is pretty good. My internet is 12mbps.

I never use the phone and quite pleased with this deal as it saves switching providers.

Now if I want fibre it will be £43 in total (at £20 a month for the fibre). I was just wondering if anyone had any success of getting this price down? They offer half price for 6 months online, and available through quidco/TCB, though I won't get that as I am still within 12month contract for another 5 days or so (I could wait, though don't want to miss the deal).

I was going to try and haggle the fibre price down on the phone today. If I could get it all for £35-£38 that would be a good deal to me.

Any advice from the serious hagglers?
Thanks

Since they'll need to come out and install the new connection for you I would guess that they're not going to be very flexible on it but there's always a chance.
  • I had fibre installed for free and my line rental discounted to £3 last year on a deal through customer retentions

  • cool,

    thanks guys.

I was thinking....I accept the new deal (£30.50), for my TV/BB/Phone. THEN, go onto quidco, and upgrade to fibre for the cashback?

My only worry is...that the bill won't go to £40.50, as technically they should 'drop' the 7.50 BB part of my deal, and then add the £10 for 6 months and then £20 for 6 months. Hope that makes sense? In a nutshell I mean, I hope they remove the standard BB, and THEN add the Fibre costs. That should work out £33 for 6 months and then £43 for the last 6.

Having got fibre, and then they announced the 6 month half price deal, they did let me retrospectively have the 6 months at £10/month even tho I had had it for a month - well worth haggling with Sky - they are not all bad! Stuart :)
  • Thanks

So does anyone think I should take the 'risk' of renewing with sky, and then doing the upgrade for the cashback through quidco?

    Hmmm
