it is the monthly 'bleed' that causes the pain.
the lining of the womb somehow manages to get into the body cavuty, and when it tries to shed, there is nowhere for it to go ...hence the pain.
with the mini pill, the lining of the womb doesnt build up...

it worked for my daughter , who started suffering with endometriosis at the age of 15.
she is one of the lucky ones...
it disappeared after she had her forst baby and has never recurred

We would put the money aside for any time she has to take time off work due to being in too much pain, which happens sometimes. She does not get paid when she is off sick. And also she cannot take on anymore work because of her condition, so help out that way also.

And by the way, she doesnt WANT to be on benefits........

I'm very pleased to hear it. Not many are willing to say that - benefits today can bring in more money than working plus you have all the free time that you could want.

Many choose to live on benefits - it provides for a better lifestyle.

Oestrogen can also cause endometriosis to become worse, that is why it stops after the menopause due to the drop in oestrogen, that is also why people who have hysterectomys but keep their ovaries continue to suffer from endo.

I'm on the mini pill and it isn't high in oestrogen. In fact, it is also known as the progesterone only pill. I can't have a pill containing oestrogen due to a DVT about ten years ago.

It might be worth your wife asking her GP about this, as it can significantly reduce the frequency of periods, and when you do have them, they are usually a lot lighter. Sorry if this is TMI, but I have had one very light break through bleed in about seven years, apart from two periods immediately after starting to take it. It's heaven without periods!

Your wife should definitely ask for further help. I hope she manages to get something sorted out.

She has already tried the mini pill, but it has such bad side effects for her. Glad it has helped you though, really not a nice thing to have :(

Constantly at the GP's and trying diff things. Originally she actually had to diagnose herself, as no GP's were diagnosing her, they just kept palming her off saying its just sore period pains  and "here are some 'weak' pain killers", total joke..... She had to do all the research herself on it till she finally found what was wrong with her, and even at that, the GP she told didn't believe her. Finally got an app with the gyny and they spotted the endo and got her an op. I don't know how these GP's are still in a job, they just wanna do their 9-5 and then go home and count their money :P
