Closing a bank account - impact on CRA file

Hi all
Can someone tell me what happens to the record on a CRA file when you close a bank account? There's no overdraft facility, nor has there ever been one. As a bank account I can't see how it can be closed and marked "settled" or perhaps it is? Or does it just get removed?
Many thanks

The account will just show as settled, overdraft or not, and will remain on your files for a further 6 years from the date it was closed/settled.I'm a Board Guide on the Credit Cards, Loans, Credit Files & Ratings boards. Yep, marked as settled. Closing my Halifax account actually bumped up my 'magic out of thin air feel good about yourself number' with the CRA's as I only had one other settled accounts. Seems a positive thing to have a few settled accounts with a clean history...0
