Upfront Line Rental-If you cancel before "Go Live" date do you get a refund?

Hi people,

Apologies if that has already come up, I did a search and couldn't find anything (perhaps because it's so obvious as to what the answer is, however I just want to make sure).

I signed up to the Talk Talk Essentials deal linked too on this site. I paid the line rental upfront and then contacted my current supplier, Virgin (whom, when I tried to negotiate with before, would only give me £1 off) to cancel with them. They then offered me a great deal, and so it makes sense to stay with them.

And so, since I've paid line rental upfront, if I were to phone and cancel today (my "Go Live" date isn't until September, and so I'm well within the cooling-off period) would I also get the line rental refunded (as it has already come out of my account)? Or is it almost a non-refundable deposit?

Thanks for your help.

Do you mean Value Line Rental? If so, TT say that you will get a 'credit', not a refund, on their FAQ's. Make of that what you will. If you no longer have an account, it's hard to see what they would credit it to.

  • Thanks macman, finally managed to get through to them today and it's a cheque that they send out, which can take up to 30 days to arrive.

Good luck with that. When I left TT years ago it took me months and numerous chasers to get back a small credit due.
