Porting number to same network.
Hello guys
I am with Three right now for my contract and it coming to an end. But they are not offering any good deals to upgrade, getting better deal through internet with Three again.
So question is how do I move my number from the current contract to new one?
If it involves another network which is the best one to go for? If I move my number to another network then how long do I need to keep the number with them until I can move out again?
Thanks.

It does, its called a backdoor upgrade usually, and you may find that you need to be "away" from Three for a while before they let you port the number back.
You'll need to port the number to a PAYG sim, then back, and the network you port to and back from may charge a fee to issue the PAC code if you are not there for at least 30 days.0 -
I am considering moving the number to giffgaff and buying £5 bag and use the allowance in two days then request my transfer code again.
Thereby moving back to Three.
Can this be done or do I need to allow greater time between transfers?
Thanks.0 -
Three would rightly block you as this is so obvious as to be painful! Same network transfers a called migrations. If you are benefiting from a deal that is otherwise unavailable to you as an upgrade, then porting in would be blocked by their system automatically.
Best approach is to be up front and ask them first to migrate - they can only refuse. If they agree, you've beat the odds.0 -

What if I left it a month then moved back?0 -

Note minimum top on giffgaff to activate a new sim is £10, yes you can then buy a £5 goodybag which will leave £5 credit on the phone.
I believe Asda have a minimum top up of £50 -
Why not upgrade through one of the 3rd party retailers to get a better deal ?
