Flight Delay Compensation

I booked flights out of Dubai to Singapore (so EU rules do not apply) however the flight was delayed for just over 4 hours as it made an unschedule stop. I'm not getting much joy with the airline as far as compensation is concerned, they are suggesting I accept their offer of complimentary miles!!! Are they are suggestions?

as you state EU compensation does not apply, travel insurance is also unlikely to pay out for that length of delay so anything you receive from the airline is a bonus as they could simply send you a letter of apology and close it there (or just ignore you)0

Thank you Caz3121 - i think we may just have to accept their offer.0
