Well SS has managed to turn a post of yours into nakedness and talking about himself - it's official, you're a dfw!
We love him really

SS should be careful what he wishes for! A naked picture of me would crash the entire forum:eek:       :eek:0

Hi again Polly, you dont know how close you are with saying you feel you are not in the real world when you are gambling. There is something called the "dream world" of a compulsive gambler and what you describe sounds very familair to me and other people I have heard speak on the subject.
This site isnt really the place to go indepth into the minds of compulsive gamblers but the chasing of the losses is a big part of it. From reading your posts you seem to have come to terms that you want to do something about it and trust me when I say there are men and women at my local meeting of all ages. scarily there are kids as yound as 18-19 to a few OAP.
Dont feel ashamed as what you have described I have gone through and now I feel I am well on my way to recovery. Even if you went to one meeting its is totally informal and there is no costs involved although there is a small collection. also of course it is totally anonymous so you dont have to give any details if you dont wish just a forst name to call you by.
I live in Essex and attend a meeting in Gidea park but there are meetings everyday in all parts of the country. I dont mean to go on about it but it took me 6 months before I had the bottle to go to a meeting and I so wish I had gone earlier. I now look forward to it and understanding why I did what I did is some type of relief and also knowing I am not mad and other people have the exact same thoughts was mind boggling to me
anyway, well done on facing up to your debts and other problems. you are obviously on the right road to getting your life back on track :TOfficial DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 297 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts
