Does anyone know if you can opt out of BT basic and stay on the light user scheme. BT have offered to transfer me but I am not on benefits so if they ever require the evidence of benefits I will be thrown off BT basic.
I get the impression that BT couldn't wait to get rid of the light user scheme as it didn't make them much money,, consumer organisations may be singing the praises of BT basic but what about people on low incomes who don't use the phone much, they are excluded from this new scheme. Dave0 -
light user sceme is finished. bt has changed to a new billing system an replaced lus with bt basic as it less open to abuse. lus is not an option now its being phased out and unless you on benefits or state aid you cant have it0

seems like a good deal to me, i am currently on income support as my husband has a long term disability and we are with bt.
Dont have a clue how much we pay at the moment for our line rental but it sure is alot more than £13.50 a quarter and you also get a £4.50 call allowance with this.
Will give them a call tommorow, never occured to tell bt when i gave up work and went on income support.
Most appriciated for this, should be a good saving though the year with this discount.
