My Samsung xcover is sooo slow and I am constantly running out of memory so decided to sell and move on.

My budget is limited to around £190 and my carrier is Ovivo.

I see on ebay that T-mobile sell the Razr i (payg) for £170

Can any one here please tell me what do I need to do to get this phone unlocked safely so I can move my Ovivo sim to it?

I see many online sites that do it but I am not sure how much is reasonable to pay for such service as I never had to unlock a smart phone before.

You should be able to get a code to unlock it from ebay for around £7.

Good phone at a great price.

The deal includes a £20 top up which I don't really need, can I resell this top up?

If ordering from Play.com via Quidco there is 3% cashback (£6 or so) if selling the topup that's a total of £144. Can get another £24 for the old phone from one of the recycle sites so not bad.

Yes you can sell the topup on ebay but you shouldn't expect face value for it.

That deal also comes with a bluetooth speaker which you should be able to sell for at least £20 if you don't want it.

Got the phone and speaker, decided to keep the speaker.

One problem, I think I was scammed with the unlocking code I ordered on Monday. Ordered one from http://www.mobifreedom.net/ as they have a professionally designed site and contact details.

The code they sent did not work so contacted them by email as they asked on the site but never got any reply. Sent 3 emails so far and nothing.

I paid around £10 via Paypal, did anyone else here had any dealings with this Bristol outfit? Is this a scam?

Do you think Paypal will refund my tenner for such non tangible item?

You should be able to get a refund from paypal, I have never used that site and tend to advise people not to use a lot of unlocking sites as there are so many dodgy ones, there are plenty of ebay sellers who provide you with unlock codes who all have high feedback, here is one which might fall into your phones category.

Thank you all, got the refund from Paypal and followed the advice to use a high rating ebay seller and I am happy to say that I can't fault him. Got the code in about a day and it worked out of the box for less than £7.

As to MobiFreedom, be very weary - they never answered any questions (spread over a week) and the codes are fake, look like a scam so always pay with PayPal/Credit Card.

5 stars to ebay and Paypal in this case.
