Halifax TMPP

I was sold TMPP over a phone by Halifax as a package when I purchased a property in February 2002. TMPP consisted of Mortgage Protection, Life Cover Benefit and Critical Illness Benefit and the only way for me to get a mortgage through them was to also get some sort of a cover through them (they suggested TMPP). I was self employed at the time and first time buyer and Halifax was aware of this. I was told that I had to cancel my current cover at the time (which had been going for a month) in order to get my mortgage through Halifax, which I did.
After seeing Martin on TV, I made a claim of misold PPI to Halifax and I was just offered £2,775.91. This amount only covers the Mortgage Repayments Cover, part of TMPP and not the other two parts Life Cover and Critical Illness Cover. I am aware that Critical Illness and Life Cover are not PPI but these were sold to me as part of the TMPP, which otherwise I would not have taken them if I had other choice. Would TMPP be re-considered as a whole (as misold) if I disagree or will I be wasting my time if I make a complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service.
The form was brief and easy to complete and staff at Halifax dealing with the matter were very helpful. I also had all the documents concerning this matter myself. I would encourage anyone to at least speak to Halifax re making a claim or complete their easy form.

Sorry, I am new to this. I did not post fancy red letters. Also, I was informed I had posted the question at a wrong thread; hence, it's been posted here now. Do you know anything about TMPP?0

Which isnt an issue as most none of the TMPP is affected by that. This amount only covers the Mortgage Repayments Cover, part of TMPP and not the other two parts Life Cover and Critical Illness Cover.
Which it would do as life assurance and CI are not PPI. So a PPI complaint would not apply to them.I am aware that Critical Illness and Life Cover are not PPI but these were sold to me as part of the TMPP, which otherwise I would not have taken them if I had other choice.
An unprovable allegation.Would TMPP be re-considered as a whole (as misold) if I disagree or will I be wasting my time if I make a complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service.
Halifax autopayout on the MPPI element. If you go to the FOS they can withdraw that offer. The FOS will look at whether it was mis-sold or not. It will treat each element individually. So, as self employment doesnt affect all three and there will be no evidence to support your allegations, you could end up with nothing if there is no other failing identified.
For life assurance to be mis-sold you would need to have no financial dependants (so no spouse/partner and/or children and be living alone). For CI to be mis-sold you would need savings sufficient to cover the lump sum payout of the CI.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
