I just had a look on their website and they seem to want £69 for one!

It probably depends what package you're currently on and whether you're happy to extend to a 12month contract. My neighbour got it for free and they got an HDOnDemand (internet) box for free to. Obviously, check the cost before ordering.

The old modems were well known for a poor wireless signal.

That's what I have, and it has been most effective.

Our router is upstairs, but in a room to one side of the house.

We have the extender plugged in to a central location, also upstairs and get excellent wifi coverage all over the house and in the garden too.

I didn't pay anything like £69 for it - take a look on Amazon.

Been with sky for a couple of years now and have no qualms in changing suppliers :rotfl:which usually gets "something" for free when mentioning this!!!

If they were offering it for free I would have one but my old router and extender cover all areas I need anyway so all is well.

I would go to Virgin but they claim they don't serve my area.

Which must come as a shock to one of my neighbours who has Virgin cable.

Remember that your wireless device has to be powerful enough to talk back to the router. Just installing a more powerful router may only solve half the problem.
