Any keen bird feeders out there?

Feeding rate definitely slowing down. Think they must be nest building instead. Though the goldfinches, tits, chaffinches and siskins are still around they are not visiting in any great number and not so frequently. Now I have times when no birds are feeding at all.
Still chasing the rooks / ravens away.0 -

You have Ravens where you are?? I've only ever seen 1 in my lifetime and that was on Sark 20 years ago... We just have bog-standard crows here which steal my duck eggs  and the feed :mad:First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win - Gandhi0 -

Not sure which is why I did the rook \ raven thing. Sometimes they are huge and I think raven and other times I think rook. Even had a solitary magpie the other day. Less frequent are jays, love the colour but the way they hop really upsets me, no idea why!
Got millions of geese in the front field, all making a very large racket. Who said country living was quiet???0 -
We had a takeover bid on our back feeder today! We have two regular Wood Pigeons who visit at least twice a day but whilst they were feeding today three more Wood Pigeons descended. What a racket with all the wing flapping etc! I am pleased to say the three strangers backed off - hopefully never to return! Our resident two eat enough seed, never mind five of them!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0

We've had quite a spectacle over the last few days - a pair of coal tits is obsessed with the idea that they have to fight their reflection in the window....It's lovely to watch them from so close but I hope they will relax soon and build a nest or they will have used up all their energy, poor things!First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win - Gandhi0

Pretty sure a magpie cleaned out the blackbird nest next door, but they're building again close to the house where I can keep an eye on them. Looks like I'll be on magpie watch for the next few weeks!0

Saw the same thing on monday afternoon. 4-5 blackbirds were divebombing it in the trees but it came out with something in its beak:o"if the state cannot find within itself a place for those who peacefully refuse to worship at its temples, then it’s the state that’s become extreme".Revd Dr Giles Fraser on Radio 4 20170 -
So many birds doing so many interesting things this time of year! I saw two pairs of magpies having a squabble yesterday. Presumably two pairs wanted the same nest spot and they were fighting it out (we've all been there!)Every act of kindness, no matter how small, isn’t wasted ❤️

Last night whilst watering the garden i accidently sprayed an adult goldfinch that was in the raised strawberry planter. it only squirmed and began preeening itself. i took it in overnight but it never made it!:o"if the state cannot find within itself a place for those who peacefully refuse to worship at its temples, then it’s the state that’s become extreme".Revd Dr Giles Fraser on Radio 4 20170
