Is a Prepaid Mastercard classed as a Credit or Debit Card?

in Credit cards
I'm about to pay for something over the Internet, using my Prepaid Mastercard.
According to the company I'll be paying, the charges are Debit Cards 0%, and Credit Cards 1.25%.
Even if classed as a Credit Card, the charge will only be about £3-75 (so not the end of the world), but I was wondering.

It is a debit card only - so no additional charges should be made. There is no such animal as a Pre-paid credit card!0

I just wanted to know how the retailer/bank would treat it.
Who knows? Some retailers reject Pre-paid cards out of hand for their own reasons (car rental is one). So it pays to have Plan B.0 -
No, it may be treated as a debit card generally but actually it's a third kind of card - not debit, not credit but prepaid. It is a debit card only - so no additional charges should be made.
Try to use a prepaid card at HMRC to pay income tax or your local council to pay council tax (ours anyway) and they treat it as a credit card and want to charge extra. They say they haven't got the necessary software.:(
Try to use one at Aldi (probably Lidl too) in England and you''ll only end up holding up the queue while they explain it's not a debit card. :rotfl:
Just my experience with a prepaid MasterCard.
