Options
hi all
i need a bit of advice regarding a car a bought on july the 1st i have a few problems with car that i bought from motorpoint it is a 62 plate fiesta 1.0t ecotec the problems that i am experiencing is the front drivers side wheel tends to wander making it impossible to keep on a straight line then when i try to pull away i feel as if the car jerks forward not pulling away smoothly the other problem that i have is i will try and explain this as best as i can when aproaching junctions ect where i slow down to a speed where i put it in second gear when i
bring up the clutch pedal the car races forward so i tried the next time putting it in first gear but feel as if i need to force it into 1st gear i contacted motorpoint about the first two problems they said i need to go to kwik fit and a ford dealership so any advice on what to do next
regards

You did pass a driving test may I ask ?Be happy...;)0

Could be the clutch is faulty or needs adjustment.
Have you done the basic checks? Take the tyres off and check them for damage/wear and check the tyre pressures. The man without a signature.0 -
Force into 1st because your going too fast for 1st gear.
Are you sure its only the right hand wheel causing it to wander? Checked it for play?
Goto KwikFit i do have to laugh about that.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
hi forgotmyname and vikingaero
on the issue of forcing into first gear is because when i am in second gear and lift my foot of the clutch it kind of races forward i am at the correct road speed at this point and on the issue on going to kwik fit i would prefer not to go there but when i contacted motorpoint they said that they have a account with them. i checked the tyres ect and there ok

You test drove the car before you bought it? And it was OK?
You bought it recently?
Take it back under their warranty.
What kind of speed are you doing when the car 'races', when disengaging the clutch? What speed are you at when attempting to engage 1st gear?
I used to rebuild ECU's for performance cars, and have worked on/rebuilt many engines, never heard of this issue in 30 years.
But as Spacey states - it sounds like you do not know how to drive?0 -
are you changing down through every gear as you slow to a stop at a junction!!

Eddy is it a diesel? If so then they will tend to pull you slightly more than a petrol. Putting it in second at crawling speed may result in you being pulled forward.
This is particularly noticeable if its the first time you have driven a diesel.0 -
