I got lucky at Colney today and picked up a blue bodycon dress (that I of course didn't need!) reduced from £60 to £23. I fully intended to return it after trying it on at home....but when I zipped it up I looked and felt like a million bucks! Who'd have thought it?!

That's what shopping is all about! Well done.
  • When will I learn - 7 items ordered, just 1 item sent!

What a poor system - goods should be allocated when ordered (and showing as in stock) not when they are despatched (in the order which suits M & S and seems to bear no relevance to when ordered)

Come on M & S, no wonder you are losing market share, surely this would not be a difficult area to correct and improve?

If you have read other threads from previous sales and indeed this one you will see that this has been going on for years now so in order to keep our stress levels low we donnt order anymore its just not worth the hassle it brings.

Placed three sale orders early am. All accepted as collect store tomorrow! Don't believe a word of it as all ordered items no longer showing online so expecting cancellation emails.....

Unbelievably all orders and all 7 items dispatched and ready for collection. Mixture of children's clothing and home items. It must be just luck as I've never even been able to collect non-sales items next day!

  • Had 2 pairs of Autograph wedges £7 quid each on the final reductions. RRP £49.50. Bargain!!

As you say, it's been like this for years. I won't order now, like you, for the same reason.

M&S used to be a quality company, responsive to their customers. They know how much this antagonises their customers but despite all their empty promises continue to do nothing to put things right. I can only assume they don't have the resources to do it.

And why no online food sales? How much business is that backward approach losing them? Waitrose must be laughing their socks off! :rotfl:

I haven't bothered yet this sale either - due to being so disappointed so often in the past.

Eventually M&S's contract with Amazon will finish and they will launch their replacement online service. From what I read a while back, M&S rushed into a long-term contract with Amazon to host their online ordering system under the mistaken belief it wouldn't be that popular with customers. Hence no real-time stock levels etc.

    Just found an article saying:

"The retailer has previously said it aims to boost its multichannel sales from £500m to between £800m and £1bn by 2014. Now it has commissioned SapientNitro to develop the new platform to be delivered in January 2014, which will replace existing online operations currently run in a partnership with Amazon."
  • got an email earlier today about M&S extending their summer sale and offering 30% off furniture and 20% off homeware if anyone is interested?
