What.... another one...!???I refer to my byline below ...
Ad hominem
An attack upon an opponent in order to discredit their arguement or opinion. Ad hominems are used by immature and/or unintelligent people because they are unable to counter their opponent using logic and intelligence.0 -
Our local shop is usually empty apart from the food hall. The clothes for autumn winter are dowdy and very expensive considering the quality. Desperate times need desperate measures oh yes lets have another sale and make the brand a complete laughing stock. DFS eat your heart out theyve overtaken you in the sale race.0

I don't understand why so many here are critical of sales, I know they can sometimes cause hassle but the more the merrier I say, after all this is a money saving site.0

Makes sense after all the 20% off vouchers this weekend. Thanks OP, I know they come around too often but I do like the M&S sale0

Simple answer to that is that M&S are now in such a desperate state that the only way they can shift stock is by having sales every couple of weeks or so.
What was a reputable company has now brought itself down to the likes of MFI, DFS and various sofa shops where the prices are completely fictitious.
The clothes are outdated, the prices too high, and the quality poor - and that's why they have to have sale after sale to shift the stuff that nobody wants to buy any more at the prices they charge.
What was the clothing equivalent of Waitrose has turned itself into an Iceland, and it can't be long now before it's taken over - it's the only thing maintaining the share price!0 -

Sadly, I have to agree. And yet I am sure there must still be a market for good quality, classic, yet stylish clothes at a reasonable (not cheap) price. I know that that's what I really miss.
They (along with Next and the like) are all on a 'race to the bottom' - for price and quality. If I want something cheap and cheerful I can go to Primark. They do it better than anyone else. If I want a good quality classic piece of clothing in wool or other quality fabric - where can I go to now?0 -
Is it just me or does anyone find the fit in M&S awful. Their sizing is totally different to other stores. I find it really big. The quality isn't great either I find.
I do however like their shoes and some of the childrens clotheare nice but its very hit and miss so will take a look.0 -

I find their sizes so inconstant at the moment, sometimes there's a 2 size difference between cloths that fit me. At one time they were so reliable for sizes...sign of the times I guess.Turtlebeach wrote: »Is it just me or does anyone find the fit in M&S awful. Their sizing is totally different to other stores.
