Unless I'm not seeing something obvious, you can buy a 'plate ending in KFC from the DVLA for £250, including transfer fees.
P16 KFC for instance.....I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
(except air quality and Medical Science)

Have a look here:
http://www.plates4less.co.uk/private-number-plates/KFC/
Then have a search on-line for similar web-sites.
Bit of a lottery - as Colonel Sanders passed on a while back. LOL.
Perhaps one of his franchise holders might be interested - but there are plenty similar to choose from as you can see on the first web-site I checked.0 -
Checked P16KFC at plates4less, only £158!!
However if you click on select to buy it, the price magics itself to £293.60
The DVLA will sell it you direct for £250 all in.
(I should start a website selling numbers with a 20% mark -up)
Edit: didn't spot that it auto ticks new number plates @ £20 plus VAT
(Moneysaving tip: make sure no boxes are ticked by default if you buy stuff on line)I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

Cheapest source for unissued personalised numbers is the DVLA (they make them up in the first place) http://dvlaregistrations.direct.gov.uk/I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

you are providing some really useful info - thanks - keep it coming
it is the fact it has '118' ( 'got your number' ) & 'KFC' together that I thought was unusual
these brokers that pay £400 ... how does that work if the plate is currently on my car?
and is that now looking like a good option?0 -

Anyone who wants that shouldn't be allowed to have a licence.0 -

Why does anyone pay for a car registration number plate??
I don't honestly know.
But I know that they do.
So I just wondered if mine had any value, and how I could find that out, and if so how I could sell it.0 -

It has some value, but being realistic perhaps not the value you may wish for.
As others have suggested , it is what somebody is willing to pay for it should they find it appealing to own. Perhaps Kevin Frank Collins with a birthday of 11th August may make an offer.0 -
Okay, so it's value is still unknown and perhaps not great ... I can live with that.
So, where could I go to sell it for the 'best possible price'?
And what is the actual procedure?
And does that procedure necessitate fees to DVLA?
And do I need to synchronise the sale with a new registration to keep my car on the road?0
