He did call up the bank but that dept was closed. He sent an email saying they had 2 options 1. Get the condition sorted 2. Rescind the contract

They are now saying they are very sorry they thought it was being dealt with and they will have painters in tomorrow and will dispose of the furniture and get new furniture and change the start of the tenancy date

So as long as its all done then I think this is the best we could hope for. The only thing is they are refusing to pay the hotel as they say it was his choice to stay on the hotel and that the flat had hot water and heating therefore it was not uninhabitable. Feel a bit let down at this considering thwy are getting rid of the old furniture that has mould and what looks like a soiled mattress therefore was he really supposed so sleep in that?

Do u think we should just let it go or fight the hotel costs?

Had a think about it and basically if he didn't leave the property he would lost any rights I have to walk away so he didn't have any choice. Therefore it was either accept the property and loose rights to walk away or stay in hotel and keep rights. I have said this to them so will see what they say

Just double checked with him it was £2500 he paid sorry. 6 weeks deposit and a month upfront plus fees to take it off the market ect.

I meant, seriously, he handed over that sort of money without seeing inside? Sorry, no help now I know.
