As Soluck & all the others above, I've had mine for about 5-6 years rang and they're going to send me a new lid free of charge in the next week. I would never had thought of doing this & paid the £34 to buy a new one if I hadn't seen this post - huge thanks!!! x0

If it is the Striker part of the bin lid (i.e the male part that goes into the catch). I had the same problem with my 40Lr Flat back Brabantia.
I designed and 3D printed this cheap easy to fit, no drilling solution:
