Santander have just launched their new Business banking website.
Many of the transactions now need you to enter an OTP, a One Time Pass Code.
This is sent to you nominated mobile phone as a text.
I don't have a mobile phone signal within my office or for over 100 yards around the office.
The OTP expires after a few minutes.
Have on earth am I to run my business banking ????
And no Santander can't give me an answer either.
Anybody any bright ideas ???????????

I'm on 02would love to hear their solution.
P.S.
Just spent the last 2 hours on Santanders appalling useless banking website doing something that took me 20 minutes before they 'upgrade' it.
I think 2 kids have set it up for them in their lunch break!!!!!!!!!!!0 -
Do you have an Android smartphone or an iPhone? O2 has a "TU Go" app that allows you to receive/send text messages and make/receive calls over WiFi.
The "TU Go" app can also be installed on tablets and Windows 7 PCs, so you can use your PCs and tablets to make calls and send texts etc.

Don't change to EE.
They have a "huge backlog" for their femtocells which allow you to do as suggested above ie connect your mobile to wifi to make calls/texts.0 -
The TU Go app on O2 works really well and doesn't require any extra hardware (unless you don't already have a wireless router).
When you select the option to prefer to have calls and texts come through over WiFi, it means that you don't get incoming call/text notifications from the stock apps so you don't have to put up with everything coming through twice
The only annoying thing is that the iPhone disables WiFi when it has been locked for a while... so if you get a call when WiFi has been disabled it comes over the mobile network. I'd rather it kept WiFi on all the time so everything comes through WiFi, that way I'll always have a full signal when at home/work and voice quality is better! Plus it gives me the choice of which device to take the call on; PC, tablet or phone.
And last but not least, it means I can make and take calls on my iPad. I've always wanted to look like Dom Joly off Trigger Happy TV!What will your verse be?

Can you give your landline number as your nominated mobile number?
If so, all you'll then need is a landline handset that can display test messages, or I think BT (and perhaps other providers) can deliver the content of the text by automated speech.
Edit:
If that's not possible, are you sure you need a OTP for every transaction?
I thought the idea was only for specific secure tasks such as setting up new payment recipient. If it's now for all transactions, they'll be having to send out a hell of a lot of texts.
Also, are you sure the system is that time sensitive? I thought it only requires you to be logged in. It's only how long a non-activated session takes to terminate that I thought was the controlling factor.
Also, where on earth do you work? >100yards to a signal? You should be able to pick up a signal if you move nearer a window.0 -
