Afternoon all
Hope you all did have a fabulous Wednesday. My "lucky feeling" yesterday morning was very wrong  as by the end of the day one of the computers fans went kaput, the cat came home (after a 2 day wander) with a bad case of fleas and to top it off it would appear our house is sinking! Grrrrr.
But! Today is a new day, the sun is still shining, the house is still standing and a good hoovering seems to have temporarily fixed the computer. As for the cat, well I'll deal with him later.
Thanks all for making this newbie feel so welcome xx Hope you all have a fantastic Thursday and good luck with your comps today!

Hi everyone.
Completely off topic I know, but have any of you had a very good friend just dump you for no apparent reason and cut off contact?? It's happened to me this last couple of weeks and I just feel awful. I don't know why, don't think I did anything but I've been completely cut out.Just wondered if it's anything that anyone else has come across??
Aaaaw! Just come in from gardening love and caught your post:( Sending big hugs your way :A
sadly sometimes it happens - without knowing the ins and outs .... maybe send lovely card and wee note to your friend (don't txt, don't email -a lovely written note is so much nicer) - just politely explain and maybe there has been a huge misunderstanding between the two of you that needs clearing?
Are you a fairly youngster? i have had such good friends over the years - unfortunately when you get to my age they start disappearing cos their little paws are pointing to heaven !!:o:eek:
Chin up love - if the friendship is strong then the two of you will find a way round it. Hug n sending best wishes alf xxxxMILITARY WIVES CHOIRSHELP for HEROES0 -
Thanks Alf, that's really nice. Yes, I am young ish and I did send a letter and have had no reply - it's just always unfair when there's no explanation. Hey ho, will try to stop beating myself up about it. It just makes you very cautious about making friends I find, and I am such a recluse. xMAY THE ODDS BE EVER IN YOUR FAVOUR0

Ok love - I thought u were a youngish peep ..... now you have done your best, sent the letter and nothing back..... to my mind I would say move on and please don't let this experience mar your life!!! There are good friends out there for the taking. Life is to short and you will meet plenty of wonderful people. Now listen to Aunty AlfDon't want to hear the word 'recluse'!!! It's not in my vocab and shouldn't be in yours
Do you have anything nearby (local clubs, interests you may have etc) to get you out and mixing with peeps of your own age? Same interests? xxMILITARY WIVES CHOIRSHELP for HEROES0 -

Nah, I'm a hermit Aunty Alf (LOL) it took a lot for me to make friends with THAT person. I will stick to my online 'friends' I guess, I am a pretty solitary person really and have a lot of solitary hobbies and pursuits which I am usually quite happy in but sometimes it gets a bit lonely, even with hubby xMAY THE ODDS BE EVER IN YOUR FAVOUR0 -

Ok - online friends are fine - plenty on this site :A, made loads myself.
But ...... 'human' friendship is really quite rewarding. Am guessing you are fairly shy? (Pleased to see you have hubby with you) :A
When you mention solitary hobbies and pursuits ......? Not going to pry but sometimes we have to bite the bullet and spread our wings to gain confidence?
How about going to your local library (wonderful source of information re hobby clubs etc) ........ and giving it a go - if you enjoy then your confidence will build - would be lovely to share your hobbies and pursuits with peeps who enjoy the samexx

Hope you have a better day today Dreaming_of_Kubera!
Shame about your friend softpad. One of my friends did something similar when she got married as I think her husband thought I was a bad influence on her as we used to go out for a drink together and he was jealous. We had only got friendly again after many years as she lived 30 miles away and I had 2 kids and it was her who had got in touch when she heard my husband had died. I didn't bother pursuing it as I had met another lovely man by then. Haven't seen her for 20 years now and think her husband and her just go about together.
