That's strange wingo re mushroom rice - like the sound of it, my kind of dish but ............. to take the whole lot off the shelf :eek::eek::eek: Something must be wrong with the stuff for them to clear the shelves :eek:

Not seen that film - see it's on C5 but have missed a great deal - will catch up on it when on again.

Just watching repeat of Escape to the Country ........ lucky peeps always seem to have a huge budget to play with!!!! :eek::eek:

Velvet Gloves comping guide has lots of useful info in when starting to comp as the boards can be quite daunting! The main competitions are under the heading 'competition time' such as 'E: 30/08 Win a family hol ' (for example) Good luck!

Alfie - Fred loves Songs of Praise when I remember to put it on. He loves a good sing, especially the old Charles Wesley hymns.
I take it we have been forgiven for teasing you, I blame Wingo really, I think she started it :rotfl::rotfl: Don't really venture further than the comping thread, I have enough trouble keeping up with that. Can't work out how these wonderful BG's keep up with it all:T

Welcome Amy and good look with comping, I see Wingo has pointed you in the right direction, I found it really helpful to read through it before I started seriously comping. You are welcome to join in with our chit-chat any time.

Wingo I always make my own rice, and put all sorts in it. Its so easy once you get the hang of it. I am ashamed to say my DD put me right on the quantities etc. We are just having a bowl of rice with some left over chicken tonight as I am being lazy.

Perhaps we might have a drink later?? ;)

I don't watch it Alfie but I remember a lot of the songs from school! My fave was...'In the bleak mid winter!' My teacher used to sing it with a lovely voice, used to bring a tear to my eye!

Hi everyone,
Hope you have all had a lovely time today. We have had a great time and the sun shone for us. Had a lovely 2 hour walk along the Lancaster Canal. Saw so many different ducks and two Herons and they were all so used to people they were almost tame. Then we had a meal at Beefeater and DH had a big steak with the voucher I won (£16.99 worth). I had salmon and we both had ice-cream sundaes so pretty full. We are at our hotel now and just about to head for the bar as DH didn't have a proper drink as he was driving here.
Have been tryinh to read back but I brought my old lappy and struggling to read on it with the cracked screen. x

Hi Sheils, it sounds as if you have had a lovely day and a nice walk. Glad you managed to use your voucher too. Ice-cream sundae sounds right up my street. Enjoy the rest of your break away and it would be lovely to see your photos when you get time to post them.
