Broadband options if can't change line rental

Hi,
we desperately need to change our home broadband provider but we're locked into a pre-paid line rental agreement with BT for the next 6 months. It seems that the majority of good BB deals that aren't too expensive include line rental in the deal. Are there any good broadband only options out there that don't require you to also change your line rental?
Cheers,
Simon

You are basically limited to a BT reseller rather than an LLU provider.
Plusnet would be the obvious contender for a broadband only package, but there are dozens of other resellers to chose from.
Why 'desperately'?No free lunch, and no free laptop

Thanks for that! Desperately just because ours is simply not fast enough and we can't wait till the current line rental agreement ends.0

But your broadband speed is largely determined by line speed and distance from the exchange. Also by your internal wiring and extensions, if relevant. Changing ISP's won't alter that one bit-you'll get the speed your line can support, and that's it. Nothing to do with your ISP. All BT resellers still use the same BT network.
If ADSL is not fast enough for you, then your only options are VM cable or an FTTC service.
Post your router stats for meaningful advice:
