Amber means stop and cameras don't activate so something like 1.5 seconds after the red has come on. So you're getting near to 6 seconds after when you should have stopped.
Plus you knew you were heavy.;)
They'll destroy the photos after you've done the course or been to court.
there is no way on earth it was 6 seconds, it was honestly marginal, although it was red, I admit that. The fact I knew it was heavy is irrelevant as Everything was legal. Brand new trailer and weights confirmed as well as the vehicle being able to pull this weight. Weight does have a factor in stopping though, which is why I carried on, it was that split second foot hover moment. Surely everyone has had this.
ps surely if its evidence I am entitled to them.0 -

Not until you enter a plea.0 -
OP, I ask again, do you know who the company providing the course is and, as another mentioned, is this indeed a speed awareness course or one of the new traffic light awareness courses?0
-
I think thats nonsense as you can change a plea at any time. I would just want proof of their allegations.0

You won't get proof only evidence. But why do you want it you admit going through on red.
In case there is a technicality. If Im bang to rights I will make a decision. Its just that in my opinion the goalposts have been changed by the authorities which isnt right, hence my questions. I personally cant believe there isnt a course in wales, so I will get on it first thing.0 -
Sorry to have to tell you this, but I think you are not fully understanding what you have done - I think you've shot yourself in the foot here mate.
When you say you were not speeding you mean you were not exceeding the speed limit - that's all well and good, but you took the decision that it was better to go through the red light than stop due to the weight you were towing.
To me that means that you were exceeding the speed that a prudent person would have been travelling at with regards being able to stop if the lights changed.
A court will eat you alive as you are going to talk yourself into much worse trouble than you are in now.
IMHO it's better that you suck it up - and go to the course,as I think you were exceeding a safe speed (nothing to do with the 30 limit).
You should have been going slower so as to be able to stop - end of story. You were speeding.
Personally I would do whatever was necessary to avoid any points on my licence.
If I were to change my insurance company I would hate to be treated differently than I am now, with a clean licence.0 -

What are you getting at?
The OP wasn't speeding so hasn't shot himself in the foot.
The offence is exceeding the speed limit. You cannot be convicted of speeding for driving at an inappropriate speed which is less than the limit.0 -

What do you mean by technicality?
If any part of your vehicle passed the stop line on red you are banged to rights. That's why you start to stop on amber.;)0
