Perhaps someone can help.
PC with Windows 8, downloaded Itunes but impossible to install as getting this error message:

Same with 10.7 and 11.0.4 versions of iTunes - same error message.
Any idea how to sort this out please?
Thanks a lot.

BTW - I know there is no version of iTunes for Windows 8 BUT - perhaps someone knows a way around it?
Apart from having to install good OLD Windows (hate 8 anyway)0 -
The download from the apple website works perfectly well with Windows 8 - Make sure you download it using the desktop version of IE 10, Google Chrome or Firefox.
Also, uninstall/remove any trace of iTunes in the Program Files folder for example as it looks like your current installation attempts have already filled the system/registry with nonsense. When you have done that redownload iTunes and RUN it.0 -
Thanks but I am using Chrome and had no iTunes on my PC before so no old installs/leftovers - still it does not install, same message all the time.0

You might be using Chrome, but for the sake of purpose use IE 10
I know you had no iTunes installed but that doesn't necessarily mean registry entries and folders were created in advanced, in preparation for the install, hence why you should look in Program Files for iTunes folders/files.0 -
If the installation file is corrupted, hence the error message, try another browser and download site (i.e. cnet). Apple though don't do bad downloads0

I think I am going to ditch Windows 8 (hate it anyway) and install 7..hmmmm0

Clean up with CCleaner first (including a registry clean) and then try again. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

really?Windows XP Service Pack 2 or later; 32-bit editions of Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8
64-bit editions of Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8 require the iTunes 64-bit installer
I have itunes running fine on W8
Are you downloading the right version 32/64bit?0 -
64 - not working though, same error(after a clean up)
Thanks but giving up, back to Windows 70 -

Thanks but giving up, back to Windows 7
have you tried downloading the file(rather than running)
then run as administrator to install it?0
