  • As said didnt require towtruck (TT) in the end.

Didnt fancy being sat in there with 2 small kids for 5 hours.

My breakdown cover is due next month, i've been looking at AutoAid it's a lot cheaper than i pay now but wondered did people ever have problems getting their money back if they'd had to pay at a breakdown.

    See above - non whatsoever.

The only issue I found was that because I was late night and needed someone to uplift a bike, the selection of recovery people was limited. This meant they sent one that didn't take cards so it was either pay in cash or do it over the phone in the morning.

I downloaded the claim form off the website, sent it off with the copy of the receipt and about a week later, cheque for full amount.

It is essentially an insurance policy against needing to be towed. The majority of 'fix at the roadside' is punctures, run out of fuel or exhaust dropped off. Anything beyond that is usually a tow and pay for the repair anyway so I found this to be a good scheme. Especially good if you have older cars or a number of vehicles.
What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?

I have been a member for many years as have family members. I belong to car clubs where nearly all the members are with Autoaid.

I have never heard of anyone having a problem and on the 2 occasions I have used them, money was refunded within a week.
