faulty LG TV - Vertical lines

Hi, I have a 49" LG Plasma TV which is now just over 3 years old and has developed a fault, namely a narrow band of vertical lines that look like dead pixels. I bought the TV from Comet so although the retailer would normally be my first thought, I cannot go through them. Do I still have any redress direct with LG? I do not have any additional warranty. Thanks.

Then it'll be out of both the retailer's and manufacturer's warranty presumably. And, since the retailer is no longer around, a claim under SOGA is not an option.
You can ask LG (nicely), but I very much doubt that you'll get anywhere. However, nothing to lose by trying. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Find the model number of the TV at the back - Google it with 'vertical lines' at the end - have a look at the results and see if others have had the same problem, and how they fixed it. If you're very lucky, it could be a board that you can buy cheap and plug in (after taking the back off the TV), or some other slightly less easy solutions...0
