Brand new car - found a scratch!
Options
Hi everyone.
I picked up my brand new car yestersday but when i got home and on closer inspection i noticed a few small vertical scratches on the drivers door frame, very closely located to each other and about 8cm in width in total.
What rights do I have, can I complain to the dealer or this is just the case once i drive away from the dealer I am responsible for everything?
Thanks

brand new car as in zero miles or 2nd hand car?0

If brand new then of course complain. Whether they'll accept that the scratches were present when you collected the car is a different matter.0

Yes it is a brand new car zero miles, well actually it had 20 miles on the clock??
How do i go about proving that they were there?
I have written an email to the salesperson but planning to take the car to them tomorrow to show it0 -
They should just polish them out for you. No car is 100% perfect when it arrives at the dealer.0

Can you feel them with your finger nail?0

You can take an insurance policy out against minor scratches on a new car.Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.0

Forget emails, extra insurance etc, just take the car back down to the dealership and show them the scratches and tell them to fix it.0
