Hot water problem

The hot water from my kitchen mixer tap does not get hot unless I turn on the hot water tap in the utility room.

The Boiler is in the utility room and the kitchen is the next room to that.

The hot water in the bathroom and shower upstairs works fine.
The main cold feed is connected in the kitchen.

This has only started in the last week or so.
My boiler has not been serviced in the last 18 months.

What could be causing the problem?

Thanks

    Combi.

    Pressure gauge is fine too.
  • Sounds like the cold water is feeding back through the mixer (they like to do that after a while), but a combi can normally beat the cold pressure.

Try turning off the cold to the mixer and see if that cures it, if so a new mixer or pressure reducing valve will fix it, but might hide an issue with the pump on the boiler.
