Hot water problem

Hi

The hot water from my kitchen mixer tap does not get hot unless I turn on the hot water tap in the utility room.

The Boiler is in the utility room and the kitchen is the next room to that.

The hot water in the bathroom and shower upstairs works fine.
The main cold feed is connected in the kitchen.

This has only started in the last week or so.
My boiler has not been serviced in the last 18 months.

What could be causing the problem?

Thanks

What is the source of the hot water? Type of kitchen mixer? Your boiler is overdue for the annual service.

Thought that posting here might not get much of a response.

I realise that the boiler is overdue for a service.

I don't think it's a boiler problem, because why would the other taps get hot water?

Is the kitchen mixer tap a combined swivel type or two separate knobs for hot and cold?

Why does that matter? Well I suppose it might if someone had been daft enough to fit a bath mixer rather than a kitchen mixer.

OP do you get cold water when you operate the kitchen hot in isolation or just no water at all until you open another hot tap elsewhere?

    Cheers

OP: would be easier if you kept to one thread... boiler is Baxi 80e. Kitchen tap likely culprit. If you know make and model then further advice could be forthcoming....in the interim see UH.
