I signed up about two months ago and got a message stating that I would be contacted. I never was. I have just signed up again. Do they only accept a portion of people that sign up?

They will usually contact you when a space becomes available in yoiur area to see if you are still interested.

For some people that happens quite quickly but it can also take a long time..
When I originally signed up it took 18 months from first contact on the website to the email and phonecall asking if I was still interested.

I've never had it happen to me...but if it did I would almost certainly pay for the item and seek reimbursement back after...
As the previous poster said it going take longer to get the stamps through from the panel and the item is likely to have been returned if it has any indication on it where it came from.
Occaisionally the sender can be identified by a personalised franking if its a business or a return address on the envelope...but most of the test items are not marked to indicate a return address.

I would be more worried that the RM would open the item to see if there were any clues as to the sender and then expose the fact that it was a test item ...therefore the less time it stays with them the better

I always prefer to collect and then contact for reimbursement, as LEJC says, you cannot guarantee RM won't open

If there was cardboard in the bag, yes you send it on together with the paper. If you have to enclose a smart, you can slip it inside the cardboard.

The FAQ states NOT to do this...

Do I put the SMART inside the cardboard insert, when included?

No. Please do not place the SMART inside the cardboard insert, as the SMART may not be seen by the receiving panellist.

I'd better read the faq again!

The problem is that they amend the FAQs but don't bring any change to the attention of those of us who have been doing the survey for a while! I'm pretty sure they used to say that the Smart could be placed within the card though it wasn't stated as something one should do.

It's all about communication - something the survey is about (as far as the conduct of the physical delivery of a message is concerned).
  • I've had two items to post in the past three weeks to addresses that I pass on my way to work. The MSEer in me can't bear to see stamps wasted like that, and I have to remind myself that I'm not allowed to just pop it through their letterbox :D

Also, has anyone else started getting one random sheet of paper in their posting packs? Since the New Year every pack has had one plain sheet, slightly smaller than A4, with no obvious reason for it (i.e. it doesn't appear to be padding material for anything I'm sending)

I've also being receiving a spare sheet of A4 paper enclosed within posting packs, and a very large white envelope which holds items to post.

I've noticed getting the plain sheet too. It's an odd size. Seems to be as wide as A4 but as though a strip has been removed along the shorter edge and it isn't American quarto either. I think I've seen this in some mail coming from business panellists.
  • Looks like im back on the panel after only 5 months break. First senders pack received this morning... back in training and raring to go ! :D
