Hi guys
I'm in the process of looking to change my car, the front runners are
07 Clio 1.2 16v
07 207 1.4
Both petrol. I'm just wondering what people's personal experience is re fuel consumption in these?

Neither, but if your dead set on buying French, the Clio is one of the better French cars but as its an 07 plate its coming up to the age where it will be reminding you that its a French car on a regular basis.0

I would jump off a cliff before buying either.0

Hmmm, botulism or the pox?
Go for the Clio -- it at least is a competent car; the 207 is a complete shambles of a design.
Peugeot is also on the verge of going bust -- for examples of what that does to a car's resale value and parts availability, look at Daewoo in 2000/Rover in 2005/Saab in 2011. I wouldn't be investing in a Peugeot or Citroen just now.0 -
When my 307 was in for the millionth time for some random repair I was given a brand new 207 as a courtesy car, first time I put the window down all the rubber around it followed and stuck the window open, this was before I'd even left the forecourt. After they fixed it I spent the next few days searching for the cause of all the rattles in the heavy massively underpowered car.0

I can't see it either, yes they are losing money but they are currently implementing cost cutting to rein it in. In Australia they are currently expanding. TBH I don't believe the French government would let PSA fail, if the s*** did hit the fan, they would just bail them out.0 -
A lot can change in six months

They wouldn't be allowed to under EU competition law (or are we the only ones who take any notice of this?)
Peugeot are the 21st century equivalent of British Leyland. I drove my mother's 207 and I thought it was a really nasty little car, and the pedal positioning positively dangerous. Almost any other small hatchback will be better.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0
