I'd give it another few days while the holiday companies work out what they are going to do!:beer:0

Quite apart from the current situation, August/September is still simply too hot for me!0

The weather is well over a 100 degrees F with 20-25 mph wind. That of itself should make everyone think twice before we get into 'how close to a civil war are we?' in Egypt. A great country being torn apart, maybe not the right time to even risk booking let alone travel0

Sure, you may save a few quid. But then again, you may come back with no head.
I'd leave it...!0 -
Egypt is a big place, if you are going to somewhere like Sharm, it is 6 hours away from Cairo where most of the trouble is.
I would be wary, but would still go.
We went in June and temperatures were hitting 50c at its hottest by the pool, but it didn't feel that hot because there is little humidity. Strange because it is very hot, but doesn't feel that hot.0 -
If you havent booked, then i wouldnt be looking to book at the moment.
It may be safe in the resorts but why would you take the risk especially with children.0 -

OP said it was for 2 adults?
We booked the morning of the day they declared the state of emergency, going next month. Fully intend to travel unless the FCO says we can't.
At the moment, people just arriving back are reporting on travel forums that the resorts really were unaffected apart from the loss of some excursions and the one night curfew they put in place.
If you weren't planning on going out and about, and aware that the holiday may be cancelled last minute then why not?
Very happily married on 10th April 2013

50C!! What did it feel like then????????????We went in June and temperatures were hitting 50c at its hottest by the pool, but it didn't feel that hot because there is little humidity. Strange because it is very hot, but doesn't feel that hot.
I've been in October and it was too hot for me to sit out between about 10am and 3pm. I had to sunbathe before breakfast, have a late breakfast and then go out again after 3pm!0 -

Oh, they won't do that
So you'll be good to go no matter
They may advise you it's not a good idea though, they'll probably be the last Western Gov to do so though.
They have the decision making capability and speed of a small African state.0
