Hi, firstly please bear in mind I am not a computer wizard at all and many terms mean nothing to me, though I can find my way around a pc.
So, I bought this laptop refurbished this week which was supposed to have no faults, only slight cosmetic marks.
It cannot find any wireless neworks. My smartpone and the wii finds our bt home hub with no problems. We have updated the drivers, and followed all instructions given in the Packard bell support app and the bt broadband technical support.
Now, the strangest thing is, yesterday, for a period of about half an hour, the laptop found our hub as well as afew other wirless networks (neighbours etc), but then went again and we cant get it to find any networks now. he bt homehub support says its a problem with the laptop, the Packard bell support says its an issue with our hub.
So to summarise, it HAS found wireless networks now it wont. Nothing was changed or updated between it being connectd to wifi and then going off.
So im at a total loss now. Feeling like just sending it back but jus want to check its not some ridiculously simple thing that ive missed. If you can help I will be forever in your debt!
TIA X

could be a faulty network/wireless adapter in the laptop. I would suggest you take it back where you purchased it and ask them to check this0

Hi, thing is all the tests/diagnstics we've de say the adaptor is working properly, obviously this doesn't rule it out, but im hoping it doesn't come to that. I bought it from bargaincrazy.com (littlewoods) so though itd be trustworthy. Be a shame if they have been dishonest. They are still selling these units though so not as if it was a one off that they had to get rid of. Thanks for your reply

This is for their clearance lines site, so will be discontinued lines/end of sales lines/customer returns, so dont think they have been dishonest. contact them and see if they will replace it if it was a recent purchase.0 -
Packard Bell...best to just return it(IMHO).0

There wasnt really a specific budget, but at £209.99 for a 6gb ram and 500 gb hardrive it seemed like a good deal. obviously too god to be true

Sounds like a flakey wireless card or connector. Intermittent faults are always the worst to solve. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Not particularly. These or this would have been better.
Just now isn't the best time to look for bargains.0 -
Toshiba Satellite C850-19Z £173.94
Would recommend adding more RAM to get the best out of it.
