In an ideal world they should be taken to court but in the real world I would just let it go. the reason I say this is that I have taken some little tw*t to court for vandalism but after all the palava of the courts etc. (which he lost and was ordered to pay a fine and compensation which neither the courts or myself received) he proceeded to leave the courts and made a two finger gesture to myself and the policeman involved, at this point the policeman told me that he's appeared in court many times and is due to appear many more. This is the state of the justice system I'm afraid.

    Remember this:

Bad things happen, not because evil people do bad things, but because good people stand back and do nothing.

Every time these yobs do something like this and nobody stands up to them, they are just given a green light to carry on with this kind of behaviour.

As difficult as it may be, you need to stand up to them, and encourage your son to do the same.

Doing nothing is the easy option. Do something about the quality of life in your area is hard, but in my opinion, it is the correct thing to do.
Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.
  • Several years ago my then 15 year old son was asaulted by 3 yobs with the bar out of a set of dumbells. The lads went to the same school has my son and it was a case of mistaken identity. He had to go to hospital, he was lucky that he only had severe bruising to his arms, back and legs. The police arrested the main protagonist (the one who had actually hit him - the other 2 just held him) We were advised to press charges as he would be facing a custodial sentance due to having previous ..he tried to hold up the local corner shop with a water pistol and scared the hell out of the shop owner. We agreed to press charges but the CPS decided there wasn't enough evidence to convict him even though there were around 8 witnesses to the assault. He got off with a hand slap and "don't be a naughty boy again or else !" This lad is also a known drug dealer and is usually high as a kite.

6 months later, the lad was dragged out of his house by 3 men to a nearby pub car park and stabbed in the arm - ain't karma a b*tch!!

What I am trying to say to the OP is that what goes around comes around - these 2 yobs will eventually get their comeupance, if not by the law, by someone bigger and harder than themselves.
