Also what would be your estimate of the cost to remove the ABS, remanufacture and then refit including brake fluid etc please? Remanufacture appears to be around £200 if you send it yoursełf (but this is through the garage).

    Thank you

  • we had a customer who we know very well. vauxhall astra sport 2007 traction control light on mot failure common fault ABS unit problems. new one over £1500. we done it cheap 1.5 hrs labour to remove/refit bleed all braking system, brake fluid postage & we charged customer 200 + the dredded.

all in just under £400 with a mot at £35. the company advised us it can take approx upto 7 days.

if it has been lost then it will take longer unless they have problems with the units themselves

The company linked-to on ebay has a very good rep. They also repair the Airbag sensors & switch clusters as well. I do know they do the job properl by replacing the internal sensors on the ABS rather than fitting an external by-pass like a few other repairers.
    Never Knowingly Understood.

I wouldn't go that far but GM cars in general (Vauxhall, Saab and Daewoo/Chevrolet) do seem to have more than their fair share of expensive problems.

Not a company that would be my first choice, unless the car was very cheap.

Oi! Why are you lumping Saabs in with Vx & Chevrolet? ;)
