How to find info on delayed flight from 2007?

Hi All,
Regarding compensation for delayed flights l was delayed by over 24 hours in 2007 having booked a holiday in Florida. The only problem is it was with XL Airways (UK) which have since gone bust and l cannot find information on my delayed flight. I wrote to my credit card company with the details to claim from them and although l still have the details of my holiday and credit card statement with the initial payment for the holiday on it the credit card company have written back wanting proof of the delay. Obviously you can understand the credit card company wanting this info, does anyone know how l can get this information, l have tried the FlightStats website but this does not give any results for the flight, anybody got any other ideas?

According to Martin lewis if the airline has gone bust then you can claim from your credit card company, l just need proof that my flight was delayed.

In the flight compensation section of this website. Quote: "However, if you paid for a flight using a credit card, you may also be able to pursue compensation with your card company, providing the flight cost £100 or more." (under Section 75).

We booked through Travel City Direct and we were supposed to fly to Florida with XL Airways (GB) from Manchester on flight XLA136 at 13-30 hours to Sandford but the flight was delayed by 30 hours. Original flight was for 29-07-07 and we flew the next day 30-07-07 after a further delay so we missed a day and a half of our holiday. I contacted my card company who have not said they will not pay compensation but require proof of the delay which is proving difficult to find.

So not only is the airline bust meaning no claim, you are also out of time (6 years) to bring a legal claim against any entity connected with the original transaction, either credit card company or airline.

No l am not out of time because l put in a claim before the 29-07-13 so my claim is within the 6 years. If l was out of time my credit card company would have said so when they replied to my claim, what l still need is proof that my flight was delayed, so any advice on how to get this would be appreciated instead of all the negative messages. I have already had great success with section 75 having claimed back £15000 pounds in the past and l am not going to let this one go! If you are persistant you will usually win which is what l have found in the past.

Did you issue a small claims action before that date? The six year limitation applies to court action - papers must be issued within that time, not just a complaint to the CC company.

jc - he shouldn't need court action through a sec75 claim - Financial Ombudsman/ FSA or whatever they are calling themsleves these days, if there is a problem.
