Renault Clio Issue

Options
My car broke down earlier this week, I was driving and a symbol on the dashboard (heat plugs) came on even though I drive a petrol clio.

The car wont start, just doesnt kick in.

I have checked all the sensors and fuses everything seems ok with them.

I finally got it to start briefly yesterday by adding a flammable liquid to the airflow, then engine started briefly but then died.

So guessing it means there something up with one of the electrical components to do with the fuel.

Anyone had any similar issues, any ideas what it could be?

Why would a garage stamp the log book when they service a car?

If the coil light is on a dtc code is stored that can be read with a cheap code reader, this may shed some light.
    Be happy...;)

Laziness or most likely lack of time due to impossible to meet targets set by the desk jockeys at head office. Not unlike the Hyundai episode of undercover boss on CH4, where someone at a desk had decided that at takes 15 mins to fully valet a car.

Years ago a major Ford dealership near me was exposed several times by people marking the service parts before taking the car in, sometimes only half the work was done, sometimes the bonnet hadn't even been lifted and sometimes the car hadn't even been moved from where the customer left it parked.

Still doesn't explain why a garage would stamp a logbook.

  • Looks like it could be an ECU issue or a fuel injection issue.

Any ideas of costs? If it needs a new ECU not just resetting?
